Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A two week trip to USA started with a flight to Loa Angeles via Charlotte. I stayed with friends for a couple of nights and first day was getting tickets sorted out and a trip to Santa Barbara. Next day I went to Tehachapi for the day and got some super photos. Later same evening I joined train 2 for the long run to San Antonio where the Chicago carriages form train 22. I took this to Fort Worth and got off there for the train Oklahoma City where I stayed the night. Back next day and then train 22 again to Springfield where I changed for train to Kansas City. From there I took train 3 for the almost 24 hour journey to Williams Junction. Next day was my first time on the Grand Canyon Railroad and I managed to pick up four of their FPA4 Alcos thanks to an extra Xmas train running. I then continued to Los Angeles, but to Bakersfield and Dash-8 power to Oakland. Stayed there three nights and made a few trips on the local and long distance trains. Also went to the Rail Museum at Sacramento and found a contact to take me to see the Germany built Krauss Maffei loco in the old workshop area. Started making my way south with train 11 to Santa Barbara where I stayed the night. On to Los Angeles next day and a few moves on the San Diego line before staying with my friends again for the last night. Straight to airport next day and flight back home via Charlotte
