Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A few days in Spain for the PTG "20th Anniversary Tour" which was run with ALSA in Madrid with their vintage stock and a heritage class 321 Alco loco. I started with an Iberia Express flight from Birmingham - Madrid for something different and then made my way into town. A couple of new 334s were around so I picked them up while I had some time. The next day we started the tour, 321.059 (masquerading as 321.048) was our power and we set off up the old main line towards Barcelona. We had a break at Arcos de Jalón then we continued to Casetas to take on fuel and water and have a look around their museum collection which contained Vulcan 277.002 and 340.026. We then skirted round Zaragoza and headed towards Teruel and had a good photo stop at Encinacorba. Teruel was as good as I remember it and it was very popular with everyone. Next day on to Cuenca via Valencia with a few more photo stops on the way. The climb up towards Cuenca being very scenic and news of our train had got around with lots of locals coming out to meet us, even TV crews! One night in Cuenca and then more lovely scenery and locals waving at us and then on the main line at Aranjuez and into Madrid. ALSA then did an extra trip for us with the very impressive 310.022 sounding excellent on the big climb us to Segovia, I didn’t expect to get new track on this trip and even better on a proper train. My final day was in Madrid in the morning and then a trip to Albacete and two new 334s on the way back into Madrid. Then Ryanair back home next morning
