Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

Part two of my 15 in two month InterRail, I started off in Hungary as the PTG tour had some tasty power involved and some unusual lines. Over the few days we had 232.453, M62-001, M61-001, 233.289 (648.001), 2143.067, 751.201, 610.100 and MY 1156. As I was in the area I did the diversion of IC74 with a big CFR 477 into Budapest-Nyugati. I then had a couple of ČD web tickets to Dresden and then a free DB Bahn Bonus ticket which I used next day picking up a couple of 143s at Dresden and Halle. Early start from Dresden to Nürnberg next morning as my DB ticket was valid until 10.00 and then a nice cheap Ryanair flight to Palermo to “fast track” my travels. This gave me a couple of days on Sicily and I managed to pull three more 656s into my net. Long run all the way to Roma once back on the mainland. Next day new I did new track over to Ancona and then a long run south to Bari for one night. Thankfully next morning 444.007 on ICN765 to Leece via Taranto and Brindisi and then again another long run back north and I had one night at Fidenza. Left Italy next morning via Milano and Domodossola and then Bern, Bâle SNCF and Strasbourg for 67519 on the hauled turn to Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and on to Nancy for one night. Fret 26233 into Paris-Est next morning and then straight over to Nord for some action on the main line to Amiens while it’s still hauled. To finish the trip I left via Belgium for two nights in Essen topped up with another free Bahn Bonus ticket and then flight back home from Weeze
